Reporter – Reporter is the module for producing statistics for decision support. The Reporter module can be used directly with FulfILLment Tracker and provides unprecedented flexibility and data visibility.

Fingerprinting – In the context of the NGDI, fingerprinting refers to the process of creating a de-duplication key for bibliographic records across institutions based on the content of these records.

FulfILLment LAI – Local Automation Integrator is an interface and protocol mediation platform. LAI will allow all existing and future Local ILSs used by libraries in a resource sharing consortium to fully integrate with Equinox FulfILLment. It will be implemented as a collection of RESTful web-service interfaces that map, via an ILS-specific connector, to each of the various ILSs in use by libraries in the resource sharing network.

Equinox NGDI – Next Generation Discovery Interface will be a union catalog/discovery interface seen by users – both patrons and staff. It will provide an easily navigated, relevance ranked, faceted interface for resource discovery and information retrieval. NGDI will use up-to-date information from its constituent ILS, by either periodically pulling new and updated records from the ILSs or by allowing the ILSs to push new records in, depending on the capabilities of the specific ILS. The Equinox NGDI will be aware of and integrate with the other modules which make up FulfILLment.

FulfILLment Tracker – Tracker is the core of FulfILLment and will be based on the award-winning Evergreen Open Source ILS. Building on this base of proven library-specific business logic, Equinox will extend Evergreen with new application logic and ILL-centered database constraints. This extension will allow resource sharing consortia of any size and structure, from local to state-wide to regional, to scale FulfILLment to meet its needs and integrate with the business logic of the various ILSs. Tracker maintains organizational confirmation and statistics for the other modules and, through it, each of the modules communicates with the others as needed.

PII – Personally Identifiable Information. That information about a patron which would allow a simple link to be drawn between a person and their borrowing history. Such information must be maintained while ongoing transactions exist, but for the purposes of ILL can be optionally removed after all open transactions are closed.

Organizational Hierarchy – The political and physical description of a Resource Sharing Consortium. Defined in and maintained by the FulfILLment Tracker, this hierarchy provides FulfILLment with the information required to most efficiently process ILL requests, as well as assign and maintain permission separation between administrative and circulation staff at disparate institutions.

Proximity Adjustment - The way in which organizations can create more or less likely borrowing outcomes by adjusting the perceived relativity of another organization. Organizations can adjust certain institutions “closer” if they have a strong borrowing agreement, and adjust them “further” if they prefer to only use that institution as a last resort.
